Inputs and Outputs
During this week's computer session, I made a mind map titled Inputs and Outputs. This shows the benefits or outputs to making artwork, and the creative process that goes into it. Its interesting to see this laid out as its easy to forget how much work you end up doing before even making an illustration; also looking at how the research and development stages create stronger foundations and understanding of a projects theme. I added headings then started to make links between each section, thinking about how my work is received by audiences and the commercial value it has. Illustrations are made to convey a message or portray something in a creative way so I usually like to think of the audience I want to reach- whether its a certain age group or possible client, its important to think about its purpose.
Through this mindmap I showed how my experiences influence the work I produce. This is an increasingly important part of my practice; including links to my life and photos that provoke emotion to further engage with an audience, building links between the artist and the viewer.
Example of an input and output- A trip to Prague in 2016 influenced the development of work for a recent project, taking photos and risograph printing them. |
